Affliction's "Trilogy" Cancelled!

It was just reported that Affliction's "Trilogy" has been cancelled.

The media was waiting for the Afflication to release the name of the fighter who would replace Josh Barnett, who was cut from the card after testing positive for a banned substance (uh...steriods!). But instead of a new opponent for Fedor Emelianenko, the 3rd Afflication MMA show has been cancelled all together.

mmaweekly reports that "Affliction’s pay-per-view provider, Showtime, played a major factor in the cancellation".

What does that mean?

#1. The fighters that were scheduled to compete in the venue are now pissed, because they aren't getting a paycheck.

#2. Affliction is probably done putting on the venue itself.

#3. Fedor Emelianenko is now a completely free to compete in any venue he and his management can work out a deal with.

Will it be the UFC?

Regardless, I bet Dana White has a fat smile on his face right now...
