A light heavyweight showdown between former UFC champions Lyoto Machida and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has been widely reported recently, although no official confirmation has come from the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Machida has since confirmed the bout via his Twitter account saying, “My next fight is confirmed and it's (going) to be against Rampage.”

He added that a date has yet to be solidified, but noted that the bout would likely “be in the end of the year.”

In follow-up to this story, the bout will take place on Nov. 20, although the location doesn’t appear to be set. A November UFC event in Germany has been rumored for quite some time, but most likely it will take place in the U.S.

Machida’s confirmation comes just days after Jackson confirmed that he was about to sign a bout agreement for his next fight, although he didn’t reveal the opponent.

The bout is pivotal for both fighters. Machida, in his last fight in the Octagon, lost his UFC title in a rematch with now-champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 113. Jackson lost a decision to Rashad Evans at UFC 114.

Evans will challenge Shogun upon the champion’s return from knee surgery.

Machida and Jackson are still fighting at the top of the division and need to avoid successive losses to stay there.

Affliction Trilogy main event is OFF!

Josh Barnett was denied for his license to fight in California! What's the deal???? He was denied due to testing positive for a banned substance.....pcp? cocaine? sniffing glue?

It was all rumor until Tom Atencio, VP of Affliction, confirmed the rumor, "Josh was denied his license, the renewal of his license, due to testing positive for a banned substance," Atencio said in the interview.

Atencio goes on to say that he's working diligently on a match up against Fedor Emelienenko, but won't announce who until a contract is signed! But who???

The rumor is, Vitor Belfort will step up a weight class to fight the unbeatable Fedor.......

Honestly, let's save the suspence and just already proclaim Fedor the victor of that one! Belfort is no match for Fedor and if that match is made, I think MMA fans worldwide will be disappointed.

The only other likely candidate to face Fedor would be former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley...who is rumored to be scared of Fedor at the moment.

Whatever happens, the main event for Affliction's "Trilogy" is dead. Don't watch it, you'll be bored. Or, watch it and make fun of whoever Affliction puts up against Fedor.

Kimbo Spice.....I mean Slice.

Talk about spicing it up!....for years now, this dude Kimbo has made a name for himself as a tough street brawler. He made his way onto our lovely computer monitors through youtube videos that spread like cancer.

Nobody could believe how this guy from the streets would challenge "tough guys" off the street to fight him. His buddies would set it up and bet on him knocking out his challenger....and he would.

The argument has been, whether he is a true athlete and true fighter. Now, he's entering the real world of mma through The Ultimate Fighter 10 on Spike TV. There is a lot of controversy around this guy and how he'll measure up to the level of a UFC competitor.

Mr. T....I mean, Kimbo Slice, has proven to be a tough guy on the street, but can he endure an octagon controlled mma bout? Will he have the stamina and technique to overcome UFC Heavyweights? Only time will tell....

So what do you think? Is he a real fighter? Is the uni-bomber beard necessary?
